Mofroism & The Feel is a powerful fusion of daring percussions, bass and spoken word/vocals that urge the listener to feel, act and motivate through sound and vibration. MTF features international recording artist, producer, composer and percussionist/drummer Jim Pugliese, and bass artisan extraordinaire Christopher Dean Sullivan. Friday’s performance will also feature guest artist and B-Boy stylist Ghyasi Govan.

The Door is a musical play that chronicles the lives of several people from a variety of backgrounds who are faced with a crucial decision that can forever change the way they live.

Through a series of vignettes that is performed by an amazing cast of multi-talented actors, singers and dancers, the audience is taken on a journey of life that is sometimes raw, sometimes hilarious, but always real. Each character hears a knock at the door, either where they live, work or play.

As they set out to "answer" the door, that is where the complexities of life comes in of whether to answer the door or not, or whether to walk through an opening to them. The journey will have you laughing, crying, and all the while clapping your hands and tapping your feet to the sounds of extraordinary music in a variety of genres, including, jazz, classical, vocal, R&B, and Gospel.

At the end of this real and sometimes in your face production is whether you can hear a knock at a door in your own life.

From the mind/heart/soul that brought you Jazz @ La Paloma, Spoken Palabra Open Mic, Kino Kafe Films, and many other creative evenings at La Paloma Sabanera comes the newest manifestation of our collective passion...The Studio @ Billings Forge.

A project of Billings Forge Community Works in Hartford, The Studio @ Billings Forge is a multi-purpose community space with a mission to nourish creativity and promote cultural exchange and learning through the performing and visual arts.

With an initial season program of music, literature and film, the hope is to use this as a base to grow organically as a community and as a space.

A web site is coming and a calendar is around the corner, but for now, please use this group page to become familiar with what we have in store for you.
