Fortunately, we live in a country that among our birth-given rights is freedom of religion. From time to time, it is necessary to employ some kind of checks and balances to ensure that a professed religious order or sect is not a cult that is promoting hate or violence against others, etc.
One religious group, The [...]
Out of the woodwork Fred Phelps and his clan appears to once again spread hate, fear and more. This time, like all others, he has gone too far.

Three days ago, we launched our own poll on health care reform and Connecticut’s Senate and Gubernatorial races in 2010. Here are results thus far. (Have not voted yet? Click here.)
Connecticut has no want for candidates who are vying for Chris Dodd’s Senate seat in 2010. Three Democrats (including Dodd), six Republicans and one each [...]
This is completely unverified (mostly because I'm lazy) but I heard somewhere there's a new Quinnipiac poll due out tomorrow. With all the recent talk about early results possibly being leaked to some candidates, I wonder if Jodi may have gotten a distinctly unpleasant feeling from this one? Again, this is speculation. Don't sue me.
Be sure to Thank our Entire US House delegation on voting on behalf of us all on health reform. Here's a little of what our lawmakers had to endure. Cast Your Vote Be sure to cast your vote in OFC's polls on health care reform, on US Senator and on Connecticut's next Governor. Senate faces abortion rights rift. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid found his health reform efforts seriously complicated Monday by the explosive issue of abortion, as key centrist senators said they wanted to see airtight language in the bill blocking federal funding for the procedure ... Abortion threatened to derail a House health reform bill Saturday, and now it’s standing in the way of Reid’s attempts to get 60 votes as well, with Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) saying he wants to see language as restrictive as the House’s in the Senate bill. [POLITICO]

CT Gov. Rell Steps out of the Race. Lt. Gov. Fedele Jumps in. On November 9th, Connecticut’s 72nd Governor, Jodi Rell (R) announced she will not seek re-election in Connecticut’s gubernatorial race in 2010. Lt. Gov Michael Fedele, who has stated for quite some time that he would run if Rell did not, wasted no time in letting the media and everyone else know of his intentions. Immediately following Rell’s announcement, Fedele stated Rell told him privately that she will support him, despite the fact that there are several other Republicans who may toss their hat into race, with one already running. GOP Go After House Dems in Conservative Districts who Voted Yes for Health Reform From death panels to death of political careers. The Party of No continues to employ flawed strategies based on false accusations, misrepresentations and the usual misshapen rhetoric ... No sooner than the House passed the health care bill, Republicans pounce on what they term “vulnerable” Democrats who voted for health care reform because they come from districts with a history of voting primarily for conservative-minded lawmakers in the past.
